'Exploring teaching philosophies and practices in adult education'

Tuesday 3 August 2010,  5.30 – 7.30pm

North Fitzroy Star Hotel, The Garden Room
32-36 St Georges Road, Fitzroy North (near the corner of Newry Street)

You are invited to join Catherine Jenkins who will share her research thesis, Connections and disjunctures: Exploring teaching philosophies and practices in adult education. Catherine embarked on her research through interviews, journaling and a focus group with 10 CAE practitioners. Together they explored the sticky questions of how their philosophies developed and how these philosophies interconnect with notions of good practice. She will share some of their words and experiences in the research process that may have strong implications for professional development. While the words of these practitioners are the focal point, in this forum you are invited to consider your own connections and disjunctures in the ongoing construction of effective teaching practices.

Catherine Jenkins is currently a teacher in Community Services  at the Centre for Adult Education (CAE)
