Hello hello! I am still high on conference feels! I always enjoy the conference events - I love feeling inspired by the passion in the field, showcased through presentations or through participation in workshops. There were over 200 people in attendance at the ACAL/VALBEC conference - WOW. I really hope some of you have saved enough conference energy to attend the VALBEC inaugural NUMERACY conference. Please check out our website for further details. I can’t wait to dip my toe back in conference waters.

A VALBEC (Victorian Adult Literacy and Basic Educational Council) Professional Learning session presented by Suzanne Derham.
This workshop delves into the challenges that some students face with auditory memory and processing, which can significantly impact their ability to retain and recall information. Participants will explore key concepts such as auditory processing and auditory memory, as it relates to Cognitive Load theory.
By the end of this session, educators will gain practical strategies to improve instructional delivery and make learning more accessible for all.
Join us to better understand these cognitive challenges and equip yourself with the tools to help your students succeed.

The NTEU ACE branch will be meeting on Tuesday 21 October at 3.15pm. This will be an online meeting and the invitation and link has been sent to all current branch members.
It's important that as many members as possible attend. There are some challenges facing the ACE workforce at present. These include the complexities of the new NHACE agreement with the additional undertakings outside the body of the agreement and uncertainties around some key sector contracts. The meeting will be an opportunity to share your experiences, concerns and questions and will be attended by our Industrial Organiser, Garry Ryan.
